I can't see why race has to be brought up on a board like this. The subject of race is always going to bring controversy. Most people here are just trying to deal with their JW experiences. RACE HAS ABSOLUTLY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!!! Does the original poster of this thread feel that there should be an equal ratio of black and white posters??? RACISM DOES NOT BELONG HERE. LEAVE RACE OUT OF IT.

Sounds like a little bit of Fred Hall in there. Bad grammar, can't spell, quoting scripture that makes no sense.
Let's see if he mentions anything about Jessica Alba or cats.

by ScoobySnax inhave been using morpheus for a couple of years now, and hasn't been too bad at all, got about 400 tracks download.
since gettiing aol broadband, the diversity seems to have diminished a bit, either i'm on the wrong dsl provider or morpheus isn't as good as it used to be.
the one i was on previous (can't remember the name now) went totally pearshaped after it got served a writ for using copyrighted material.....anyway, know of any other good music file sharing sites?

The Music Industry has been double, triple, even quadruple dipping for some time now. As soon as the technology changes. For example, I bought the Sgt Peppers Album. Then it came out on 8 track (I heard the news today --click-- oh boy), then cassette, now CD. If I don't have Sgt Peppers on CD and I already bought the album, but my turntable is busted beyond repair and can't find another one, why can't I download a song from that album so I can hear the music I paid for?

But, they never had to actually experience the bullsh*t rules and regulations Ex JW's had.
What crap! Maybe different rules, but oppressive rules by a high control religion, nonetheless! Read my post about some of them:
Stephanus: Yes, all religions have their own rules and regulations that make outsiders go "HUH???". Since leaving the Society, I've attended my share of different churches and religions. ALL of them are very critical of the witnesses. Very few of them actually knew what the witnesses were really about. I would say to them that the Jehovah's Witnesses do have one teaching that is absolutely the truth. Religion IS a snare and a racket. Amazing how offended they get when I say that statement.
Just to clarify what I meant. It's hard to know what it's really like being a witness without actually being one, or having a close family member who is one. (Like Yerusalyim). Someone who was never a witness can read about it, talk to witnesses and ex-witnesses, but, they will never know what it actually feels like to be a witness. So, my statement is not crap, it is the truth. However, that statement can be applied to all religions. Mormons, Catholics, Jews. I will never know what it would be like to be a Jew. Therefore, how can I ever criticize their religion?
To all. Thank you for your comments on this post. It's nice to know that not all had the same experience with worldly people that I had. On the other hand, It's comforting to know that I was not alone in the was I was treated all those years ago. I'm just sorry that anybody had to experience that.

Theft of Identity from the Borg
by Yizuman ini had a thought for most of the ex-jws who spent most of their lives in the borg.
for those who left the borg, has anyone stopped and think, "who am i really supposed to be apart from the borg?".
have you ever wondered what your life would have been like if you had never been a jw?

I grew up in the Society and had the pleasure of attending Elementary through High School as a Witness. All I can say is that many worldly people did not like JW's and took great pleasure in making mine and other JW's lives as miserable as possible.
Let's see. Some worldly people would actually hit JW'w because they did not salute the flag. (This in a country that prides itself on freedom of religion). I've been told that JW's worship the Devil and that I'm going to hell because I did not belive the same things they did.
Of course, I reasoned with myself that Jehovah's People always were Persecuted. Just look at our Brothers in Malawi and what they were enduring, I would think. I remember reading somewhere that it was an honor to be persecuted for Jehovah. For some reason, that really didn't make me feel too much better.
As time went on, things got a little better.
Today, I read boards like this and see so many of you who shared and suffered many of the same experiences both in the congregation, and outside of the congregation. I feel very strongly that those of us who were JW's have earned the right to say anything negative about the witnesses. But, for some reason, it bugs the hell out of me when people who never were associated with JW's come to these boards and start making derogatory remarks about the JW's and the JW lifestyle. I really feel that these type of people are just making fun of the crap that JW's had to endure from the Society and the Worldly people.
For example, the Society had many stupid urban legends. Like for instance Smurfs are demonic. That had to be one of the most stupidest things we were told. But, we had to live throught that. Then, someone who never was a JW comes on here and starts posting stupid stuff about smurf drinks and such. But, they never had to actually experience the bullsh*t rules and regulations Ex JW's had. I feel these type of people have no sympathy to what some of us had to endure on a regular basis.
Just my 2 cents

Jimi Hendrix wrote a song called 51st Anniversary. IMO one of Hendrix best work. It shows both the good times and bad times in a relationship. Things get better as time rolls along.
As the song says, If you get another lover, It will just turn out to be "the same ol' thing"
51st Anniversary - Jimi Hendrix
Ah fifty years they've been married,
They can't wait for the fifty first to roll around,
Yeah, roll around,Ah thirty years they've been married,
And now they're old and happy and they've settle down,
Yeah, settle down,Twenty years they've been married,
And they did eveything that could be done,
You know they're having fun.And then you came along and talk about,
So you, you say you wanna be married,
I'm gonna change your mind!
Ow, got to change,That was the good side baby, here comes the bad side...
Ten years they've been married,
A thousand kids run around hungry,
'Cos their momma's a louse,
Daddy's down at the whiskey house,That ain't all!
Three years they've been married,
They don't get along so good,
They're tired of each other,
You know how that goes,
She got another lover,
Huh, same old thing. So now you're seventeen,
Runnin' round, hangin' out and ah, havin' your fun,
Life for you has just begun, baby! And then you come saying,
So you, you say you wanna be married,
Oh baby, trying to put me on a chain,
Ain't that some shame,
You must be losing your...shhh--mmm...sweet little mind!
I ain't ready yet, baby,
I ain't ready.
I'm gonna change your mind!
Wooh! Look out baby!
Ow! I ain't ready to get tied down!
I ain't ready, I ain't ready now!
Let me live a little while longer!
Let me give! Let me live a little while longer!
Oh!
So if you've finished talking, let me get back into my...groove...shhh--mmm
